Do you understand that at no
time in the United States of America is a defendant in a
criminal case required to prove his or her innocence, or
to furnish any evidence whatsoever, and that this right
is guaranteed to everyone under our constitution? Does
everybody understand that?

Do you promise that if you are
chosen as members of this jury you will follow the
instructions on the law that the Court gives you at the
end of the trial, and that you will follow and apply this
law, even if you don’t like the law, even if you don’t
agree with the law? The Court tells you that that is the
law applies to this case that you will follow it. Will
anyone have any difficulty in doing that?

Everybody understand that law
is not made in the judicial branch of government, it is
made in the legislative branch of government. What we do
here is interpret and apply the law, and if we tell you
that is what the law is, you must use the law. Is anyone
