adhered to the number, and I haven’t really worried so much
about -- I leave that to my secretary as to who has
permission and everything.
 
Everybody has been real good about it. They
haven’t been tripping over each other. And they maintain
one position; usually when they get it, they freeze in that
position, and that’s it. They’re not running around the
courtroom clicking or anything like that.
 
Is it absolutely necessary we have it during
the proceedings -- I don’t care when I’m not on the
bench
-- today. And then in the future you all can get
together and work out a game plan so it’s fair to both
sides and how many cameras and all of that kind of stuff?
Do you actually need it today, right now?
 
MR. MERRETT: Well, Your Honor, my client’s
position obviously is that the entitlement is absolute.
 
THE COURT: Well, there wasn’t prior approval,
and I’m trying to get around slamming the door on you.
 
MR. MERRETT: I understand. There’s not really
an issue of fairness because there’s nobody else here
seeking to exercise that right given wider public access.
 
THE COURT: Not today. But in the past, it was
unbelievable all the cameras that were in here. I think I
was the only one that didn’t have a camera. So all I’m
trying to say is I know where this is going the next time,
