May it please the Court.
Your Honor, the first thing I would like to
point out to you is that by the terms of your order
scheduling this hearing today, this injunction that’s
outstanding expires in fifty minutes, at five o’clock, so I
would like to request that in the event the Court does not
rule on this matter immediately that you at least extend
the term of the injunction up to the point that you rule so
that we don’t have a gap in coverage that could produce all
sorts of consequences.
 
Your Honor, I’m going to make my argument just
as short and sweet as I can. I reviewed for you what we
have gone through. We have had -- this is the 1, 2,
3
-- this is the fourth major hearing we’ve had with
respect to this matter. The Court has labored over this
matter. You have read articles in the Cornell Law Review.
You have considered the cases. And you have distilled,
gradually, a workable injunction that keeps these parties
at enough of a distance so that we’re not going to have
civil turmoil in the City of Clearwater.
 
Now, I represented in my motion -- and I called
up Mr. Surrette who is not here because he’s on vacation,
but I have represented in my motion that the City of
Clearwater was in favor of extending this injunction in the
